Qualifications Alignment & Validation
The QAV Portal is an automated system established by the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) to facilitate the submission and processing of applications for the alignment and validation of national and foreign qualifications within the Kenya National Qualifications Framework (KNQF).
The Kenya National Qualifications Authority undertakes the alignment of qualifications awarded by Qualifications Awarding Bodies in accordance with the Kenya National Qualifications Framework Act.
General requirements
Documents that don't meet these six requirements are the most common reason applications stall.
Certified by an Advocate and Commissioner for Oaths (Kenyan citizens), an Advocate and Notary Public (foreigners), or the issuing institution.
Non‑English certifications and transcripts translated into English by a certified translator, bearing their official stamp.
National ID cards or passports showing a clear photograph, certified by an Advocate and Commissioner for Oaths.
Passports, work permits, and visas showing a clear photograph, certified by an Advocate and Notary Public.
Where there has been a name change, an affidavit must be attached.
A complete signature page in English, as proof of research work and/or project.
